Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert M. Hrivnak, 72, of Nanticoke, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 22, 2021, in the emergency room at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Nanticoke, he was born July 13, 1949, a son of the late John and Emma (Hibian) Hrivnak.
Robert was a plumber by trade for many years, and had worked for Arthur Coombs, and later Joseph A. Wright and Sons Plumbing and Heating, He was last employed in maintenance with the Nanticoke City Housing Authority, retiring in 2011.
Robert Hrivnak became uncle Bob on May 17, 1972. His living room was an indoor football field, a basketball court and wrestling ring for his nephews. The boys knew if they needed a new baseball glove or catcher’s gear, a new pair of sneakers, hunting or fishing gear…Go ask Uncle Bob. He loved his nephews and was their biggest supporter.
A “Jack of all trades”, Uncle Bob was always willing to help others. When not fixing someone else’s furnace, Uncle Bob could be found working in his garden, making kielbasa, or fishing on the river for smallmouth bass.
An avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed spending time at his trailer in Vosburg on the Susquehanna River near Tunkhannock which he owned for over thirty years.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Surviving is his brother, John Hrivnak and wife, Nancy of Nanticoke; his companion, Claudia Painter of Nanticoke; his nephews, with whom he shared a special bond, Matthew Hrivnak and wife, Liane of Mechanicsburg, Shawn Hrivnak and wife, Jennifer of Nanticoke, and Todd Hrivnak and wife, Katie of Wyoming; great nieces and nephews, Ariyanna, Dylan, Iszabella, Allison, Sara, and Makenzie Hrivnak.
