John B. Muench Sr., 70, of Trucksville, passed away Sunday, December 5th 2021 at his home following a period of declining health. Born November 15, 1951 in New York, NY, he was raised in Laceyville, a son of the late Harry and Estelle (Christiansen) Muench. John graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School, class of 1969. His entire working career was in residential and commercial carpet cleaning and water extrication and started employment with his family business, Oscar Smith, Company. He later owned and operated Chem-Care for over twenty years, and was last a General Subcontractor with American Water Company until his retirement in 2019. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed golfing and had been a member of the Wyoming Valley Country Club. He loved sports, especially football, his team being the NY Giants. He also loved watching “March Madness” college basketball and bowled earlier in life. Among other interests, he liked trading stock and followed the stock market. He is survived by his three children; Heather Everhart of Plymouth, Holly Muench of Forty Fort, and John Muench Jr. at home; a grandson, Brian Everhart Jr.; brothers, William Muench and his wife, Judy of Laceyville and Clifford Muench and his wife, Deborah of Sheatown section of Newport Township; several nieces, nephews and a close circle of good friends. John’s family will honor him with private services. There will be no public viewing or calling hours.
