Dolores A. Slosky, 94, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, of Nanticoke, passed away Friday May 13, 2022 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born February 18, 1928 in the Alden Station, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Michaelina Madey Gonshor. She was a graduate of the former Newport Township High School. She resided on West Ridge Street, Nanticoke since 1998 and previously Mountain Top for twenty years.
Dolores was married to Edward A. Slosky on August 23,1948 and shared forty-nine years of marriage until his passing on January 12, 1998.
Prior to marriage, she was employed at Rhea and Derrick and the former Leader Store in Nanticoke as a salesgirl. She was a member of St. Mary Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Dorrance.
In addition to her husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by her son Edward; brothers, Stanley, Chester, Frank, Bernard, Narcy, Edmund, Henry, Alfred, and Norman Gonshor, and a sister, Geraldine.
Surviving is a daughter, Renee Slosky; daughter-in-law, Sandra Slosky, Nanticoke; grandchildren, Edward Slosky and wife, Kim, Mountain Top, and Josh Slosky, Nanticoke; great grandchildren, Miranda and Jacob Slosky; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call for visitation hours Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 3529 St. Mary’s Road, Wapwallopen (Dorrance). Those attending the Funeral Mass are asked to go directly to the church Friday morning.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Dorrance.
