Janet Tengowski Dennis RN, 50, of Nanticoke, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Born December 15, 1971 in Richmond, VA, she was a daughter of Thomas A. Tengowski and Dorothy (Runchka) Tengowski. She graduated from John S. Fine High School, class of 1989, and Luzerne County Community College as a Registered Nurse in 1992.
Janet was a kind, compassionate nurse who started her career at Allied Services John Heinz as a staff nurse and later became Clinical Nurse Manager of the brain injury unit. She moved on to become a Case Manager for Coventry workers comp and then Aetna, until her illness.
Everyone that knew Janet, knew that her beach house was her happy place, which included many hours of shell picking. She loved to cook and would often make large batches of soup, lasagna, desserts, etc. to distribute to family and friends. Janet loved to shop, especially black Friday, and later online. She enjoyed many crafts including sewing, needle point, and quilting. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-six years, Peter; son, Christopher (girlfriend, Natalie), of Nuangola; daughter, Cameron, at home; her father, Thomas A. Tengowski, of Nanticoke and mother, Dorothy (Runchka) Tengowski, of Saint Simon Island, GA; sister, Anne Skamarakus and husband, Darryl, of Saint Simon Island, GA; twin sister, Joan Englehart (Fred Kidd), of Harveys Lake; father-in-law, Peter Dennis and mother-in-law, Barbara, of Nanticoke; brother-in-law, Joseph Dennis (Candace), of Mountain Top; sister-in-law, Stephanie Evans (Stanley), of Nanticoke; niece, Lauren Skamarakus (fiancé, Justin Ward), of Eatonton, GA; nephew, Michael Skamarakus (Lucia Villafranca), of Saint Simons Island, GA; niece, Meghan Englehart (Ethan Szczecinski), of Dallas, nephew, Dylan Englehart (Dana Price), of Dallas; and nephew, Carter Dennis, of Mountain Top; as well as aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Tengowski on June 3, 2020.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.
