Diane Jo (Vandermark) Remphrey, 66 of Shickshinny, died Thursday, March 23 at home, surrounded by family.

Born in Nanticoke, PA on January 5, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Russel E. and Emma (Dubil) Vandermark. She was a 1975 graduate of Northwest Area High school.

Among her many jobs, for over 20 years she was at Pocono Raceway for the races as a volunteer and then as a Security Manager in the pit/paddock area. She loved animals and teaching dog obedience classes, as well as training dogs for search and rescue. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, walks in the woods, foraging for mushrooms and wild plants. She especially enjoyed cooking and teaching her granddaughter how to cook.

Diane is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gerald Remphrey; two sons, Brad and partner, Leah Stevo, Santa Fe, NM; Corey and granddaughter Dresden, Shickshinny; brother, James Vandermark, Shickshinny; and sister, Lisa Vandermark, Shickshinny.

Diane was preceded in death by both of her parents and a brother Russell J. Vandermark.

There will be no services for her as Diane chose to donate her body to science for research and education through the Humanity Gifts Registry.

Arrangements are in the care of Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 East Broad Street, Nanticoke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Glioblastoma Research Organization.
