Geneva Jumper, 88, of Hunlock Creek, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3, 2023 at her home. Her husband, Leon Jumper, passed away on September 29, 2020 following forty-six years of marriage. A native of Lansing, North Carolina, she was born October 6, 1935 to the late Luther and Lucy Hart Barker. She and Leon lived in Kennett Square for many years where they were employed by Vincenti’s Mushroom Cannery. They returned to this area in 1976 and she was employed in the garment industry prior to retiring. Geneva was a member of Roaringbrook Baptist Church. She enjoyed living in the country, watching birds and deer. Her main interest in life was her home and family, and especially loved spending time with her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters. In addition to her husband, Leon, she was preceded in death by a son, Eddie; sisters, Bernice and Dorothy; and brothers Donald, Glen, Earl, Gale, and Carl. Surviving is her son, Rick Barker and his wife, Carolyn, Hunlock Creek; granddaughters, Ashlee Durand and spouse, Brian, and Natalee Barker-Sanchez and her spouse, Maggie; a sister, Gaye Miller; a brother Halbert Barker; as well as nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the compassionate care they provided, especially Joanie. Private viewing and services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev Daniel Brubaker, officiating. Interment will be in Bloomingdale Cemetery. There will be no public viewing or calling hours.
