Obituary of Larry L. Davenport

Please share a memory of Larry L. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Larry Davenport passed peacefully at home on June 5th surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer. The youngest son of Leota and Willard Davenport of Luzerne, he was 64 years old. Born and raised in Luzerne, he then resided in Hanover Township, and most recently Nanticoke. Larry was born into a very musical family and played in many local bands. Family gatherings always involved music and singing. He was also an avid hunter and spent many a cold morning waiting for that prize buck. Larry loved his grandchildren and enjoyed vacationing with them, and watching them play sports. Later in life, he also enjoyed his Harley Davidson and weekend rides with the Twisted Eagle Motorcycle Club. He was also a member of the Nanticoke Eagles. Both of these organizations recently held fundraisers to help with his medical expenses for which he was grateful. Larry is survived by his daughter Amanda and spouse AJ, grandchildren Connor, and Karleigh Detrick of Midland Park, NJ, and Amanda’s mother, Eileen. Brothers John (Vicki) West Wyoming, Robert (Eva) Pittston, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Richard, Kenneth, and sister Doris Huffman. He will be greatly missed by all. We would like to thank Robert, Eva, and special friend Brenda Kaminski, along with Allied Hospice Care for the care provided during his final weeks. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements being handled by Dinelli Family Funeral Home, Nanticoke.
