Mary Ann Oram, 94, formerly of the Hanover section of Nanticoke, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing Center. Born January 6, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Boback Lesko. She graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1948 and resided in Hanover section of Nanticoke most of her life. Mary Ann was self-employed as owner of Mary Ann’s Café in the Hanover section of Nanticoke for many years before retiring. She loved her family and was a person of great faith. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Hanover section of Nanticoke where throughout the years she dedicated her time to church activities including, pierogi making sessions, annual church bazaars, chicken barbeques and numerous other fund-raising activities. She also served time on the Parish Council. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James J. “Gus” Oram on October 21, 2022; a sister, Dorothy Phillips; and a brother, Stephen Lesko. Surviving is her son, Gary G. Hasinus Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth, Hunlock Creek; a daughter, Carol Ann Curry and her husband, Bryan, Marlton, NJ; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. Panichida will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 106 Welles Street, Hanover section of Nanticoke with The Very Rev. Fr. Traian Stafiuc, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Nanticoke. Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mary Ann’s memory to St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 455, Nanticoke, PA 18634. Arrangements are in the care of Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.
