Edward Randy Eckrote, 63, of Nanticoke, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, following a long period of deteriorating health. Randy was born March 26, 1961 in Nanticoke, a son of the late Calvin and Lorraine Lore Eckrote. He had been employed for many years doing construction work and masonry for several companies, and enjoyed riding motorcyle prior to becoming disabled. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by brothers, Joseph Craig Eckrote and Dean (Dino) Eckrote. Surviving are his children, Chad Eckrote, West Nanticoke, and Torrie Eckrote, Plains; grandchildren, Chad J. and Bentley Eckrote, and Arabella, Joseph “Bubby”, and Chase; three sisters, Nicole Lanteigne (Paul), Plymouth, Debra Conrad (Robert), and Sonia Bowman (Raymond), both of Hunlock Creek; and aunt, Mildred Transue, Wanamie; nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke with the Rev. Roger C. Noss Jr., pastor of Mount Moriah Independent Community Fellowship, officiating. Friends and family are invited for viewing and visitation Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Slocum Cemetery.
