Obituary of Charlotte Kitler

Charlotte Kitler, 82, of Nanticoke, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Allied Services Hospice Unit, Meade St. Wilkes-Barre.
Born October 31, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Stryjewski Kitler.
She graduated from Marymount High School, Wilkes-Barre, in 1960, from Cedar Crest College magna cum laude, Allentown, in 1964, from Rutgers University School of Library Service, New Brunswick, New Jersey, in 1965, and from Rutgers University School of Law with honors, Newark, New Jersey in 1973.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Kitler served as law clerk to the Honorable Frederick W. Hall, Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, and then joined the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, where she served as a Deputy Attorney General, representing a number of state agencies, including the New Jersey Department of Health and the New Jersey Department of Education.
She was appointed as General Counsel to the Jersey City School District, Jersey City, New Jersey, in February 1990, and served in that position until her retirement in January 2009.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Nanticoke. She was also an active volunteer in the long-term care Ombudsman Program and a member of the youth aid panel. She read to children in the Head-Start Program and made frequent presentations on Medicare Fraud to seniors and other members of the community.
Charlotte is survived by several cousins.
A special thanks to the staff of Allied Services Hospice Unit, Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre. They are the most compassionate and caring staff that we have encountered.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke, Rev. Richard Gyansah-Tabiri officiating. Anyone attending the mass is asked to go directly to the church.
Private interment will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Dinelli Family Funeral Home 170 East Broad Street, Nanticoke.
