Obituary of Eugene J. Waclawski

Eugene J. Waclawski, 85, of the Alden section of Newport Township, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.
He was born in Glen Lyon, a son of the late Adam and Veronica Dzwilewski Waclawski and was a graduate of Newport Township High School.
Eugene proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy for four years and was honorably discharged in August, 1961. He attained the rank of Aviation Electronics Technician Petty Officer 2nd Class. Following his military service he began a career with AT&T and was employed in building management, retiring with over 30 years of service.
He enjoyed watching auto racing and was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoying hunting, fishing and shooting, and was a long-time member of the Wilkes-Barre Rifle and Pistol Club. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish / St. Adalbert’s Church, Glen Lyon.
Surviving are his sons, Alan Waclawski, and Brian Waclawski; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Stewart, Jessica Jones, Juliana Waclawski; a great granddaughter, Lucy Stewart; a great grandson, Beau Stewart; sisters, Alberta Yarasavage, and Sylvia Vasia; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited for visitation hours Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.
Private interment with military honors will be in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Glen Lyon.
