Obituary of Frank A. Paluck Sr.
Please share a memory of Frank A. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frank A. Paluck Sr., 86, of Nuangola, passed away Wednesday evening, February 12, 2025 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. His wife is the former Judith Weyhenmeyer.
Born in Nanticoke on July 24, 1938, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Szychowski) Paluch. He was class president when he graduated from Newport Township High School in 1956 after which he attended Penn State University.
Frank and Judy, together with their children, owned and operated the General Store at Lake Nuangola from 1974 until its transition to Paluck's Food Concessions and later Paluck's Catering. While his family was young, Frank served as a volunteer fireman for the Nuangola Fire Department, and a zoning officer for the borough. He was also a fireman on the track during the Pocono Raceway Nascar Races. Prior to opening the family business, Frank was a supervisor for Topps Chewing Gum, then was employed by HUD during the time of the Agnes flood.
Frank enjoyed listening to polka music, eating meals prepared by his son and daughter, watching the Nascar races and sitting on the back porch with his wife. He loved to tell stories of his time growing up on the Alden Mountain and could often be found working on projects around the house and business.
Frank's family would like to thank the medical professionals who helped him manage his health concerns over the years, especially Dr. Huntington, Dr. Mascarenhas, Dr. Bali and their staffs. During Frank's final week, Dr. Welch and the Neurosurgical team at Penn Medicine provided care with kindness that exceeded expectations, and for that the family is especially grateful.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Krista Marie Paluck.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Judy Paluck; a son, Frank A. Paluck Jr. and his wife, Denise; daughters; Dawn Brady and her husband, Neil, and Lori Hatrak and her husband, George; his great grandson, Logan Barone; his sister, Andrea Paluch; a niece, nephew, and many cousins.
The family has chosen to forego services at this time.
Arrangements are in the care of Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.
