Leonard J. Margalski, 83, of Nanticoke, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 6th, 2025. Born March 20, 1942, Leonard was the son of the late Leon “Marbles” and Wanda Deminski Margalski. A lifelong resident of Nanticoke, he graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1960. Leonard served his country during the Vietnam era, from 1963 to 1966 and was stationed in Korea. He married the former Judith A. Sosinski on April 18, 1964. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2023 after 58 years of marriage. Leonard was a self-employed contractor, owning and operating Margalski Insulation from 1967 until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke, and formerly Holy Trinity Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and loved tending to his plentiful garden. He was also a sports fanatic who was passionate about his teams, namely, Penn State, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Syracuse Orangemen. In addition to his parents, and his wife, Judith, he was preceded by a sister, Lorraine Blanzola. Surviving are his sons, Lee, of Nanticoke; Dean and his wife, Karen, of Wapwallopen; and Keith and his fiancée, Amy Brienza of Sugar Notch; grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda, and Blaise Margalski; great granddaughter, Nora; sister Deloris and husband Tony Losito and several nieces. The family will have a private viewing and there will be no public calling hours. Friends and relatives are invited for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 South Hanover Street, Nanticoke. Those attending the Funeral Mass are asked to go directly to the church on Thursday morning. Interment and Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Leonard’s memory to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at StJude.org.
