Obituary of Doris E. Meyers

Please share a memory of Doris E. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On June 7, 2025, Doris Elaine Meyers, age 72, had her heavenly room made ready for her to go home to. Rest in peace our dear mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was born January 29, 1953 to Richard Irving Meyers Sr. and Doris Mae Askew Meyers. She was a graduate of Nanticoke Senior High School, class of 1971 and attended Luzerne County Community College. Elaine had a diverse work history from road construction to the LCCC kitchen, Nardone’s Pizza and finishing up at CVS Caremark. Everyone that knew Elaine knows of her strength of character, her kindness, and a touch of spicyness. One of her favorite things to do was bake….cookies for the holidays or cakes for any occasion. She enjoyed making specialty cakes for birthdays; spending time outside tending her flowers and her garden or watching the hummingbirds. Decorating the house inside and out for any holiday was a must, and she did it well. She loved taking Mickey for walks down by the library. She was a member of First Primitive Methodist Church, Nanticoke. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary; a brother, Richard; the father of her children, William Jarrett; and her beloved son, Jason. She is survived by a son, William Jarrett Jr. and wife, Denise; a daughter, Jennifer Jarrett; siblings, Dale and wife, Chris, David and wife, Debbie, Carol, Barbara, Terri, and Tiffany; her best friend of 33 years, Elaine Reed; and fur babies, Mickey and Missy. The family would like to thank the staff of the Emergency Department at Geisinger South and Geisinger Wyoming Valley, along with the trauma team, PACU nurses, and 5th floor nurses for the kindness, wonderful care, and compassion given to Elaine and her family during her final hours. May God bless you all. A Memorial service will be held Saturday at noon at First Primitive Methodist Church, 50 East Church Street, Nantcoke with Pastor Joe Roach, officiating. All are invited for visitation hours Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for the Hope Pavillion will be accepted at the First Primitive Methodist Church. Arrangements are in the care of Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke. To leave a message of condolence or expression of sympathy, please visit the funeral home website: www.dinellifuneralhome.com.
