Diana M. Kline Obituary

Diana M. Kline, 94, widow of William H. Kline, of West Nanticoke, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 21, 2025 under the care of Allied Services Hospice Center, Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre.


Born April 26, 1931, in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Jennie Wisnewski Matesic.


Diana graduated from Harter High School and went on to work for several companies, including, Plymouth Township Tax Office, Luzerne Outerwear, before retiring from A. Rifkin, Hanover Township.


Throughout her life, Diana enjoyed sewing, gardening, especially Dahlias, her cats, and walks with her sister, Cecelia.


She was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke and formerly St. Stanislaus Church. Diana was also, for many years, a member of First United Methodist Church, West Nanticoke, where she was President of the Gleaners Class. Diana was instrumental in the compilation and publishing of the 1973 Methodist Cook Book, which was such a successful fundraising event, the cook book required a second printing in 1974.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William, with whom she was married for nearly 68 years before his passing on June 7, 2018; a granddaughter, Samantha Penko; sisters, Thomasina Matesic, Anita Zdziarski, and Cecelia Wilkes; and her son-in-law, Joseph Penko.


Surviving are her children, William Kline and his wife, Roberta, of Somerville, SC; James Kline and his wife, Ann Marie, of Nanticoke, and Diana Penko, of West Nanticoke; grandchildren, Candece Jones and her husband, Jeremy, Lucas Kline and his wife, Heather, Raymond Kline, Veronica Penko, and Nathaniel Penko and his fiancée, Abby Cullen; great grandchildren, Caylee Duncan, Lucas Kline, and Savannah Kline; great-great grandchildren, Penny Duncan and Jasper Duncan; a sister, Sylvia Grevera; as well as several nieces and nephews.


A Blessing service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.


Interment will follow at Edgehill Cemetery, West Nanticoke.


Viewing and visitation hours will be Sunday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
