Helen C. Kotch (née Czekaj) died in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart on March 2, 2021 in Dunmore, PA due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was 80 years old. Mrs. Kotch was born on October 10, 1940 in Nanticoke, PA to her parents, Tadeusz and Helen Czekaj (née Hosczinski). She graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1959. Helen then married Gerald Kotch in 1960. The Kotches moved to Virginia Beach while Gerald was stationed there during his time in the Navy. Helen always looked back at that time with fondness. Helen and Gerald resided in Tunkhannock for many years. While there, she worked at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock, PA as a pharmacy technician. She retired in 2003. They later moved to Mechanicsburg but eventually returned to their hometown of Nanticoke. Helen was an affable person who could tell wonderful stories and always loved to make people laugh. Mrs. Kotch is survived by her loving husband Gerald, a son Dr, Thomas Kotch and his wife Nichole of Tunkhannock, and daughter, Lisa Coleman and her husband Brent of Lykens, PA. Her family was at her bedside to mourn her passing and share a private viewing. There will be no formal memorial service.
