Judith M. Ruth, 66, of Forty Fort, passed away peacefully Friday, March 12, 2021 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley surrounded by close family. Born July 31, 1954 in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Irene Shibilski Ruth. She resided in Slocum Township most of her life and graduated from Crestwood High School, class of 1972. She was employed by RCA, Mountain Top early in life. She spent countless hours volunteering at The Learning Station in Nanticoke where she touched many little one’s lives and was known to all as “Miss Judy”. She was also active in the school PTA, Boy Scouts and sports with her children. Judy was a member of St. Faustina Parish, Nanticoke and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Swoyersville. She was very close with her entire family. She traveled the country with her companion, Sam Favata, and was able to go places she could only dream of, and especially loved their casino trips. She was the best mother to her sons, Shaun and Kevin, and called to check on them daily. She loved to crochet, make stockings and candy for all kinds of occasions. She was also one of the best grandmothers anyone could ever ask for. She adored her grandchildren, having dance parties, craft making, bounce house trips, library trips and making her backyard into the coolest place ever. She enjoyed Halloween and seeing all the children every year. She had a Halloween fun display on River Street in Forty Fort that would bring smiles to faces young and old. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Ruth; brother-in-law Richard Fisher and beloved dogs, Buddy and Ollie. Surviving is her significant other, Sam Favata; sons, Shaun Rinehimer and partner, Matthew Petrillo and Kevin Rinehimer and wife, Maria; grandchildren, Mariah, Nicholas and Arianna; a sister, Beverly Cruikshank and husband, Deacon Herbert Cruikshank; nieces, Valerie and companion, Dave and Rachel and husband, Josh; great nieces and nephews, Seraphina, Hayden, Jade and Jett and the entire Favata family.
