Michael Edward Haines Jr., 34, of Chase Road, Shavertown, passed away Friday, March 26th 2021. Born December 5th, 1986, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Dawn (Benscoter) Haines and Michael Haines Sr. He attended Greater Nanticoke Area High School where he wrestled and played baseball for the Trojans. Mike enjoyed fishing and hunting and was recently learning taxidermy. He could always be found rooting for his Dallas Cowboys on Sundays. What he valued most was creating memories and sharing good times with family and friends. He was a kindhearted man who never turned down an opportunity to help anyone. He loved his friends and family deeply. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Glenn and Eloise Benscoter, and his paternal grandparents, Edward and Susan Haines. Surviving are his mother, Dawn (Benscoter) Haines of Plymouth; father and step-mother, Michael and Deborah Haines of Stillwater; brothers, Sean Haines of Los Angeles, California, Ryan Zagata of York Haven and Eric Zagata of Hunlock Creek; his niece, nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Michael Bodek, officiating. Interment will be in Benscoter Cemetery, Muhlenburg.
