Edna M. DiRisio, 92, of Nanticoke passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 due to complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. Born January 27, 1929 in St. Clair, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Morgan and Harriet (Botzer) Jones. She graduated from Girardville High School, class of 1947, and was a homemaker most of her life, raising three children; Joseph P. DiRisio, Plains, David DiRisio, Nanticoke and Elaine DiRisio Halesey, Hanover Township. Each of her children feel blessed to have had two wonderful parents. Edna’s life was dedicated to being a great Mom, which she was. She was also the proud grandmother to Attorney Peter J. Halesey and his wife, Jamie, and Attorney Christopher Halesey, both of Pittsburgh, and Anna K. Anderson-DiRisio, Wilkes-Barre as well as great grandmother to Peter Q. and Nora Halesey, Pittsburgh. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Ann Jones, Hanover Township and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph A. DiRisio who passed away in 2012; a sister, Harriett Tarr; son-in-law, Peter M. Halesey and close family friend, Mary T. Oliveri. Private services are entrusted to Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke. There will be no public viewing or calling hours. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs, near Ashland.
