Obituary of Edward Janora

Edward (Swinty) Janora of Nanticoke, PA, who was born July 14, 1939 to Sophia (Troyan) and Joseph Janora, beloved husband of 57 years of Joan (Kulakowski) Janora, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2022 after a prolonged illness.
He was a 1957 graduate of Nanticoke High School and served 2 years active duty in the Army artillary division, where he spent time in Korea, Texas, Oklahoma and Georgia.
He worked as a bricklayer from 1965 to 2001. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors, including fishing and hunting. He served as the President of the Lucky 14 Club for 30 years and was Secretary of the Took-A-While Sportsman Club. Later in life he became an avid golfer and took up wine-making, even growing his own grapes.
Even through his illness, Swint could be counted on for his charming smile and a quick- witted laugh.
He is survived by his wife Joan, his children Deanna Janora-Koch, Edward J.Janora and Lisa Hanley as well as his 4 grandsons, Riley and Jared Janora-Koch and Sean and Eric Hanley, all of whom he loved to watch play sports.
Swinty is preceded in death by his sisters Cyl McHugh, Louise Hojnowski, Helen Bonavita and brothers Stanley, Joseph and John Janora.
At his request, there will be no viewing. Private burial to be scheduled at a later date.
