Lorine T. Werts, 79, of Nanticoke, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born March 7, 1943 in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late Rudolph and Elizabeth (Onofrey) Ricko. Lorine was a graduate of the former Harter High School, West Nanticoke. She married Donald L. Werts on November 18, 1961 and they resided in Nanticoke since 1971. Lorine was employed as an Aide at the former Nanticoke Villa Personal Care Home, Nanticoke until retiring. She was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish. She will be missed by her husband, Donald with whom she shared 60 years of marriage; children, Donald J. Werts and wife, Billie, of Nanticoke; Teresa Hunsinger and husband, Fredrick, of Nescopeck; Debra Quoos and husband, Howard III, of Nanticoke; and Donna Werts and companion, Joseph Karavis, of Newport Township; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Funke. A private Blessing Service will be held from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Slovak Catholic Cemetery, Nanticoke. There will be no public viewing or calling hours.
