Christopher M. Bates, 49, of Kingston and formerly Nanticoke passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 6, 2022. Born at Mercy Hospital Wilkes-Barre on May 18, 1973, he was the son of James and Elaine (Thomas) Bates of Nanticoke. He lived in Nanticoke most of his life and was employed as a truck driver for Mascaro’s and was currently driving for GFL, Dorrance. Among other hobbies, Christopher enjoyed music and played the drums and was proud of a Chevy Chevelle that he owned in the past. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Edward Bates on February 10, 2007. Surviving, in addition to his parents James and Elaine Bates, are his sons, Jimmy and Alex Bates; a sister, Britney Gubitoso and her husband, Al of Pittston; his girlfriend, Devon Reich and her daughter, Lundynn; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call for viewing and visitation hours 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke. Private interment will be in Benscoter Cemetery, Muhlenburg.
