Vincent "Big Vin" Horoschock Jr., 66, of Hanover section of Nanticoke, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at his home with his family. Born May 23, 1957 in Ashland, PA, he was the son of the late Vincent and Eleanor Kasenych Horoschock. Vincent was raised in Bethlehem and graduated from Liberty High School, class of 1975. Vincent began playing bass and drums at a young age in his father's polka band. He continued his polka career with many bands including John Stanky & the Coalminers, Marion Lush, The Musicalaries, Freddy K, Walter Ostanek, The Polka Quads, Frankie Yankovic, Joe Stanky & the Cadets and many many more. He inspired many throughout the industry for decades. He was employed as a corrections officer for Luzerne County Correctional Facility for twenty-eight years, retiring in 2018. Vincent was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke. In addition to his music career, he was a devoted family man who always had the best one liners, avid Yankees fan, always knew the best deals on food, and enjoyed watching horse racing. He is survived by his wife, the former Deborah Stankovic, with whom he celebrated their thirty-fifth anniversary on May 14th; a daughter, Ashley Horoschock and fiancé, Jeffrey Michaels, of Harveys Lake; sisters; Mary Lorady and husband, Michael, of Shenandoah Heights; Rosie Costello, of Allentown; and Carol Croll and husband, Glen, of Bath; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; his father and mother-in-law, John and Dottie Stanky; and sister-in-law, Kimberly Bukowski. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke. Viewing and visitation hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
