Josephine Kreitzer, 84 of Nanticoke, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Allied Hospice, Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre. Born, July 18, 1939, at home in Plymouth, PA and then residing in the Buttonwood section of Wilkes Barre during her childhood. She later resided in Nanticoke and raised her family. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Stella Sanecki Kratz. She was a graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 1957. In 1961, she married her high school sweetheart, Joseph C. Kreitzer, Jr., whom she celebrated 52 years of marriage. Josephine was a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth. She was a member of the Friendship club of St. Mary’s where she met some dear friends. Crocheting was her passion and she was always crocheting hats, mittens, booties and lap robes to donate to different charities and organizations. She was a dedicated volunteer of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. She also won first place at the Bloomsburg Fair for one of her crocheted Afghans. Before her husband’s passing, she also enjoyed going camping with Larry and Jean Mosier at Mosier’s Campground near Wyalusing. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her children; sons, Carl and his wife Kim , Hunlock Creek, Stephen and his wife Lonee, Nanticoke; Joseph and his wife Gail, Tampa, Florida; Brian and his wife Lori, Nanticoke; daughters, Linda and her husband Gene, Drums, Susan and her husband David, Nanticoke. 12 Grandchildren, Jordan Kreitzer (Hector) Kyle Kreitzer (Adessa) , Austin Bogart (Briauna) , Caitlyn Bogart (Matt), Kelly Kreitzer and her fiancé Jeff , Stephen Kreitzer (Sara), Melissa Kapsick (Brian), Lisa Perfetto (Mark), Aaron Kreitzer and his wife Zeena, Nathan Kreitzer (Carly), Ella Kreitzer and Logan Latshaw. 4 great grand-children, Maddie and Sophia Kapsick and Scarlett and Kobe Colon. Several cousins, nieces and nephews. “All that we are or ever hope to be, we owe to our angel mother” In addition to her parents, Josephine was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Joseph, October 21, 2013, brothers Fred and Charles Kratz. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Allied, Meade Street for their care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday in All Saints Parish, 66 Willow St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Gerald Gurka, her pastor, as celebrant.. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to go directly to the church Saturday morning. Private viewing will be held from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will follow in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton, Franklin Township. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Blvd., Phila. PA 19104; the American Cancer Society; or your favorite charity.
