Shirley Dee Cragle, 92, formerly of Hunlock Creek, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at Birchwood Nursing Center, Nanticoke, where she was a resident. Born March 25, 1932 in Berwick, Shirley was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Walters Waters. She was employed at the former United Penn Bank, RKO, Percy Brown’s Bakery, The T-Knob, The Little Greenhouse, and Conyngham Floral. Shirley was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, Ashley, for over fifty years. She was a past president of the United Methodist Women, a lay leader, and a member of the choir. She also taught Sunday School and was active in many other facets of church life. She is preceded in death by her husband of nearly fifty years, Keith “K.C.” Cragle, siblings Henry Waters, Carol “Rusty” Waters, Margaret “Sis” Cusumano, Carolyn “Mickey” Hall, and Shelden “Mike” Waters. Surviving are her children: David Baron and his wife, Beverly “Bunny”, of Sarasota FL; Deborah Baron of Hanover Township; and Dale Baron and his wife, Debra, of Hunlock Creek; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Thursday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E, Broad Street, Nanticoke, with the Rev. Roger C. Noss Jr., pastor of Mount Moriah Independent Community Fellowship, officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick. Friends and family may call for visitation from 10 a.m. until time-of-service, Thursday at the funeral home.
