David Carlo Obituary

David J. Carlo, 71, of the Korn Krest Section of Hanover Township, went home to be with his Lord, Sunday September 1, 2024, following an illness of one and a half years.


David was born July 25, 1953, the son of the late Nicholas and Madeline Dobash Carlo. A resident of Korn Krest since 1982, he lived in Wilkes-Barre in his early years and graduated from GAR Memorial High School.


He worked for the A. Rifkin Company, Hanover Township for ten years and was last employed by Integrated Power Design for over 20 years. He retired in July, 2023 due to illness.


David loved the Lord and attended the Welsh Bethel Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre. He had a very close relationship with his family and enjoyed the family gatherings, all special occasions, and trips to Knoebels and Lancaster. He liked going to airshows, watching sports and especially was a fan of the Phillies and Cowboys. David also greatly enjoyed walking for exercise and riding his E-bike.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Kuchta.

He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Frances “Pat” Policare, with whom he resided, and Shirley Swartz and husband, Loren of Akron, PA; nephews and nieces, with whom he was very close; Robert Policare, Korn Krest; Michelle Kuchta, Nanticoke; Loren Swartz, West Pittston; David Swartz, Ephrata; Holly Gilliland and husband, Jason, Lititz; and Timothy Swartz, Wilkes-Barre; as well as great nieces and nephews.


A Memorial Service will be held at noon Thursday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke, with the Rev. Michael Benner, pastor of Welsh Bethel Baptist Church, officiating.


Visitation hours will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.


Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery.
