Ronald T. Pajor, 76, of Nanticoke, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Birchwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke.
Born on July 20, 1948 in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late John and Frances Volowicz Pajor.
He was a 1966 graduate of Nanticoke High School. Following graduation, he studied engineering, obtaining his Associates Degree from LCCC in 1969. Ronald served as a reservist in the United States Navy from 1967, until being ordered to active duty in October of 1969. He proudly served as a Yeoman 3rd Class aboard the USS Truckee, during the Jordanian Crisis. He was honorably discharged on August 14th 1971, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon.
Following his military service, he resumed and completed his studies at Penn State. Working for P A & S Small Company as a salesman from 1970-1978, and later L & L Supply Company, he became a partner and vice president of L & R Associates, Inc., based in Hatfield, PA. He retired in 2012, at age 62, to enjoy life.
Ron was a member of the West Side Club, The Nanticoke Conservation Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the former V.F.W, all of Nanticoke. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Wyoming Valley Country Club, as well as table tennis with the Nanticoke Table Tennis Club, where he won awards. He attended Askam United Methodist Church
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Chester Pajor, and Antoinette Pincofski.
Surviving is his wife, Cheryl Hankey Pajor, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage; and a daughter, Crystal Pajor, at home; brother-in-law, Dr. Dana Hankey and his wife, Becky, of Santa Barbara, CA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Birchwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the kindness and special care they gave to Ronald.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Benscoter Cemetery, Muhlenberg, with Rev. Craig Mark, pastor of Askam United Methodist Church, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Navy.
Arrangements are in the care of Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.
