Helen Robacheski, 95, a life-long resident of the Alden Section of Newport Township, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024, at Birchwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born the youngest of eight children on June 1, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Skopek Baran. Helen attended Newport Township High School, and worked for several different companies between raising her children and helping with her grandchildren, including: R.C.A., Mountain Top, Penn Footwear, and General Cigar Company, Nanticoke. She was a faithful and life-long member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Nanticoke, prior to the consolidation of parishes, and later belonged to St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, and enjoyed praying the rosary with family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lawrence A. “Robey” Robacheski, who passed away in 2011; and her daughter, Christine Stewart, who passed away in 2005; and all of her siblings. Surviving are her sons, Lawrence J. Robacheski Jr., and his wife, Suzanne, Mountain Top, David Robacheski, at home, and Kenneth Robacheski, Nanticoke; grandchildren, Kellie Ann Coberth, and her husband, Scott, Charlotte Stewart, Kristen Highhouse, and her husband, John, Ashleigh Stewart, Amber Robacheski, and Amy Noyalis, and her husband, Gabriel; step grandchildren, Sarah Billeck and Nicholas Hruska; great grandchildren, Ava and Blake Coberth, and Juliet Highhouse. Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 2nd from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 East Broad St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke. Viewing and visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wanamie.
