Charles T. “Bud” Faux, 93, of Orangeville, passed away Wednesday evening November 27, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
His wife, the former Shirley Robbins, preceded him in death on November 1, 2013 after sharing 54 years of marriage.
Born September 8, 1931 at the family homestead in Zion Grove, he was the son of the late Wallace and Anna Smith Fox. He was raised on the family farm and was active working with his father early in life. He graduated from Nuremburg High School in 1949.
Bud was inducted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He served at Ft. Knox and was qualified as a tank crewman with the Third Armored Division, Combat Command B. He was honorably discharged in 1956 and was a reservist until 1962. He attained the rank of Specialist 4th class.
He and Shirley resided on Mill Street in Orangeville since their marriage in 1959. He worked for many years as a loom fixer at Bloomsburg Mills, Inc. where he retired as a supervisor in 1993. Bud also drove a school bus for Henry Kline, Orangeville for many years, and continued after his retirement from the silk mill.
He was a member of Orangeville United Church; and a life member of the Orangeville Volunteer Fire Company and the Orangeville Sportsmen Club. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, watching the Phillies, and tinkering.
In addition to his parents and wife, Shirley, he was preceded in death by sisters, Janet Creasy and Dorothy Faux; and an aunt, Hazel Schlauch.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Richard “Rick” and Trudy Faux, with whom he last resided in Orangeville; grandson, Brandon Faux and his wife, Missie, their children, Paisley, and twins, Remi and Hunter, Orangeville; grandson, Matt Faux and his wife, Kayla, and their daughters, Aurora and Sutton, Zion Grove; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Taylor and her husband, Irv, Orangeville.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service Wednesday, December 4th at 11 a.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville, with pastor Gail Kitchen, of the Orangeville United Methodist Church, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army.
There will be no public viewing or calling hours.
