Dear Family and Friends,
You may not remember me, but I am Delores's cousin, Beverly Conklin. My mother was Margaret Davis, my dad was Gorden Squier. I am sorry I wasn't closer to Delores. But we lost contact after our Davis family reunions stopped. But as I read her obituary I had to smile because when I read things she enjoyed, I felt like we were twins, cause we shared the same things. I too love to do everything she did. especially dancing. I loved going to Polka parties and I would travel to find a place to square dance. We had a cottage on Cayuga Lake here in New York and I loved going out on our boat fishing. I love to travel, my favorite place was the Ocean I never felt closer to God than standing on the beach, the never ending water, the strong sound of the waves crashing on the shore, the peacefulness, and also the sound of the seagulls.
All like God, never ending, powerful and peaceful, even the sound of all the people was wonderful as they laughed and ran to that mighty ocean. I love the Bible and have always gone to church and been active in it since I was 3 years old when my Mom started me in church. I sang in the choir, went to Sunday School and now as I grew up and had my own children, I began to teach Sunday School for 3 to 5 year old children and I did it for over 50 years, I love the little children. I am a Deacon and a prayer warrior for my church, and I call 10 people on our outreach list of shut-ins and those in nursing homes every week to check on them.
I am also very close and involved with my family. I have 5 children all married and I have 12 grandchildren. I became a Great Grandma almost 2 years ago. I was a nurse but when my first grandchild was born, I gave up my nursing to begin what turned out to be 16 years of watching and caring for them while their parents worked. I wouldn't have missed a single moment with them. They grew up and when the last one began to go to school and they didn't need me to be there for them anymore, as I left that home I cried all the way home. But it really didn't end, We are still a very close family, celebrating birthday's, weddings, Anniversaries, holidays. graduations and just get togethers whenever we can,
Yes Delores, We had a lot in common, thanks to our mom's !!
So, dear family, remember, she is in Heaven and is now your guardian angel and will be watching over all of you !!
May God bless all of you with His peace and comfort. I will hold all of you in my thoughts, my heart and prayers now and in the days to come.
With all my love and deepest Sympathy
Your Cousin
Beverly
