Dear Lynn, Lauri, Lisa and Danny;
Ann and I are very sorry to learn of the passing of your mother. We heard the news from cousin Marlene. We are appreciative of Marlene representing the Kanyuck side of the family at tomorrow’s service. My earliest BIG recollection in life, at just over four years old, was being at your Mom and Dad’s wedding in October 1956! Your Father in his crisp Navy Dress Blue uniform and your Mom, looking like a Cinderella. Larger than life and that’s the way she lived it. During those few trips Uncle George, Aunt Emma, George, Bob or I made to PA over the Poconos, I always remember your mother’s sparkling personality, warmth, wit and graciousness. She had wonderful sense of humor and I can hear her laugh even today. As a little boy, she made me feel welcomed and at home in your household. She was so solicitous of little kids and children, myself included. Her fourth-grade students in Long Island are in their late seventies now, but I bet they still remember her fondly. Your Mom was the class act and the best reason in my mind for visiting the relatives in Nanticoke. In later years Ann and I made it from wherever we were stationed to attend Lynn and Lisa’s wedding. As the mother of the brides, even then your mother was the picture of the phrase “grace under pressure”. She lived A Wonderful Life. She really was Cinderella.
