I joined Orpheus in 1975 and Betty was a member before I was. I thought she was a beautiful woman with an equally beautiful voice. I accompanied her for solos for many years and it was always a pleasure. Orpheus Choral Society was blessed to have Betty as a member. My late husband, Ray Lauer, owner of Midway Garden Center did her trimming and yard work for a number of years and he enjoyed sitting with Mel when they attended our concerts. They were both great people and we enjoyed their company very much.
